The smallest of our rooms and, for many guests, the favourite: a bed, a window, the pines and the sound of the sea behind them.
The Pine Suites sit in the old farm buildings at the edge of the forest. Walls are a metre thick and finished in lime that we mix on the estate; floors are wide boards of maritime pine, oiled and left to darken.
Each opens onto a small walled terrace with two chairs and a table, where breakfast arrives on a tray if you'd rather not walk to the house.
